About EAR
Based on the doctoral research work of Akpan Jimmy Essien, Ph.D. (Sorbonne), EAR promotes Direct Auditory Perception or Ecological Acoustics. It focuses the link between sound-producing bodies and sound perception. The basis for all investigations is the pivotal concept of invariance in psychophysics. By adhering strictly to this research principle, EAR has successfully introduced psychology into the physics and mathematics of sound, and turned hearing research into a science of human behaviour.
